About Hamish Mitchell

Hamish Mitchell Hamish's journey into the world of photography, and his passion for the photographic process, began at a very early age when he was given one of his father's Nikon cameras. He was immediately drawn to the creativity involved in capturing a beautiful image, as well as the technical elements required to turn his vision into a work of art in his family's darkroom. He knew from that time that this was the path he wanted to follow.

Combined with his other passion, travel, he's been fortunate enough to visit and explore many parts of the globe seeking out the beauty that the world provides. He has a keen eye for finding an inspiring location, and waiting for the perfect moment when light and nature align to capture the beautiful scene before him through his lens.

In addition to having his work in private collections, he's also had the pleasure of having his photographs featured in such publications as National Geographic Traveler, The Guardian UK, Africa Geographic, Landscape Photography Magazine, Canadian Geographic, and Sawubona Magazine (South African Airlines inflight magazine).

Hamish currently resides in the South African bush close to the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
